dominantly British, and it is therefore of interest to record that there are signs of its schools being brought into closer relations with the Hongkong University.

Relations with Mission Colleges and

Missionary Bodies.

While the University, by its constitution, draws no distinction of creed, and while the University authorities believe that, by the time the University stage is reached, the Christian or non-Christian student educated in a Mission School may with advantage be brought into contact with a more widely representative society, the friendliest relations are maintained with Mission Schools and Colleges, and with the missionary bodies. In this seuse it will be sufficient to record that the Anglican Bishop

of Victoria, Hongkong, and the Roman Catholic Bishop of Hongkong," are alike members of the University Court: that Hostels in connection with the University ure maintained by the Church Missionary Society and the London Missionary Society, while a Roman Catholic Hostel is likely shortly to be built; and that the China Medical Board of Peking has recently instituted eight scholarships

to be held in the Faculty of Medicine by students from the Canton Christian College, whose pre- medical course is accepted by the University in lieu of its own.
